Lawrence Veregin is an associate in the Intellectual Property group of Aird & Berlis LLP. He assists companies and individuals in the creative and innovation industries with protecting their intellectual property and resolving complex and technical disputes. Lawrence has appeared before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Lawrence is also a registered trademark agent and has argued before the Trademarks Opposition Board in trademark opposition and expungement proceedings.
Gordon is a Corporate and Commercial associate at Loopstra Nixon LLP. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, bank financing, and general corporate advisory matters.
Gordon holds a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Toronto and a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and the New York State bar in 2023. In addition to being a Teaching Team Member for the “Lawyer as a Negotiator” course at Osgoode Hall Law School, he is a Business Law Practicum Mentor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law.

Jonathan Wallace is an associate in the Banking and Finance group of Dentons’ Toronto office. In his practice, he represents borrowers and lenders in various banking matters and general corporate/commercial transactions.
Jonathan completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, where he graduated with distinction. He continued his studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. At Osgoode, Jonathan was heavily involved in advocacy and represented the law school in the Canadian National Negotiation Competition and the International Law school Mediation Tournament, in addition to serving as the President of the Advocacy Society.
Wendy practices litigation, currently as an associate at McCague Borlack LLP.
She has successfully represented clients on motions, applications, trial and appeals before all levels of court in Ontario. Wendy maintains a commercial and construction litigation practice and has assisted her clients on matters including contractual disputes, construction lien claims, construction and infrastructure claims, commercial tenancy disputes, mortgage enforcement proceedings, and creditor remedies.

She has extensive experience in registration, complaints, investigations, inspections, incapacity, and discipline matters. Lidiya has represented clients in serious academic misconduct investigations. She has also acted as Independent Legal Counsel to several regulators.
Lidiya maintains a broad civil litigation practice, including medical malpractice, professional regulation, and commercial litigation.

Sanj is a partner at Aird & Berlis LLP and a member of the firm’s Litigation, Financial Services and Transportation Groups. He assists private and public companies, municipalities and financial institutions with complex commercial disputes, including those arising from commercial transactions and disagreements amongst shareholders.
For nearly twenty-five years, Sanj has effectively advocated for his clients’ interests in Ontario’s trial and appellate courts, before administrative tribunals, at private arbitrations, and at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Sanj is also regularly retained by clients to conduct internal investigations to ensure their adherence to compliance regimes.

Kelly Slate obtained her JD from the University of Toronto in 2001 and was called in 2002. Currently with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office she has a trial specialization in child and familial homicides, child abuse and sexual violence. Education has been a focus of her career with involvement in developing and teaching courses for the Peel Regional Police, Ontario Police College, and RCMP. She is a co-director of the Sexual Violence Summer Course for Crown Attorneys and regularly presents at conferences for the criminal bar.
