Book Launch: Charlotte Dalwood in Conversation with Janet Mosher & Benjamin Berger on “Until At Dawn We Wake”
Until At Dawn We Wake: Gender, Madness, Theology explores the intersections between transgender experience and identity, mental illness and disability, and law and religion through a series of personal essays grounded in author Charlotte Dalwood’s experiences with each of the subjects she engages. This book launch event will feature a public reading of one of the chapters, followed by a panel discussion between Dalwood and Osgoode faculty members Janet Mosher and Benjamin Berger about the book’s major themes and their implications for feminist thought and Canadian legal discourse.
Charlotte Dalwood is a Student-At-Law at Prison & Police Law in Calgary, Alberta; and a Master of Laws student at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in Toronto, Ontario. She holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law. Widely published, Charlotte’s journalistic commentary has appeared in Xtra Magazine, Sojourners, rabble.ca, and CBC News, among other outlets. Until At Dawn We Wake: Gender, Madness, Theology is Charlotte’s first book.
