Sandra Ka Hon Chu and Elene Lam will describe the carceral web created by anti-trafficking laws and policies in Canada, and recent cases and test cases which challenge these rules.  We will hear about the work of Butterfly, the Asian and Migrant Sex Workers Support Network mobilizing and advocating as part of Toronto’s ongoing review of municipal bylaws covering body rub parlours, highlighting this often-overlooked regulatory regime and the way it singles out sex workers in punitive and dangerous ways.
