A conversation with Dr. Ellen Quigley from Cambridge University
Please RSVP here. Lunch will be served.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Quigley to Osgoode Hall Law School to share research behind a soon-to-launch corporate bond index that will be the first to span the fossil fuel chain (producers, utilities, and financing) and to fuse debt denial and engagement strategies in a systematic way. This innovative project is built on an evidence-based methodology thatpenalises companies engaging in fossil fuel expansion but will also reintegrate extremely emissions-intensive companies that are rapidly decarbonising.
Dr. Ellen Quigley is a Principal Research Associate and the Special Adviser (Responsible Investment) to the Chief Financial Officer, both at the University of Cambridge. She is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and holds an A.B. in English literature from Harvard College, an MSc in Nature, Society, and Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in economics education from the University of Cambridge. Heraward-winning paper “Universal Ownership in Practice: A Practical Investment Framework for Asset Owners” available here, is to be published as a book through Cambridge University Press later this year.
